6. John Still – 9 Years – Dagenham & Redbridge
Returning at a club he spent 2 years before as manager but for the second spell he spent 9 years at the club making him the 6th manager on the Top 10 Longest Serving Managers in English Football. John Still took charge of Dagenham & Redbridge in April 2004 when he took charge their where only two games remaining to conclude the season and Dagenham & Redbridge finished 13th that year.
With less money at his disposal Still sold a few players and brought in new ones from lower leagues the next season 2004/05 Dagenham & Redbridge finished 11th but Still kept on building his squad. They finished 10th in the 2005/06 season but with fewer points than the 2004/05 but the chairman believed in Still’s long term plans for the club and kept his position as manager and was offered a two year contract extension.
In 2013 John Still left the club joining Luton Town marking an end to his 9 year managerial career at Dagenham & Redbridge.
