7. Steve Tilson – 7 Years – Southend United
Steve Tilson takes up 7th spot on the Top 10 Longest Serving Managers in English Football with a 7 year spell at Southend from 2003-2010. Tilson started out as director of the club before the then manager Steve wingnail after he was sacked Steve Tilson was named as the care taker and led Southend to their first national cup final in 2004 he was given the job on full time basis.
In his first seasons Tilson took Southend to two consecutive promotions from League 2 to the Championship and led them to the Football League final but unfortunately lost to Wrexham. Steve received a number of job offers but chose to stay at Southend.
On 4 July 2010 Steve Tilson left the club bringing an end to his 7 year reign as Southend manager.
