Ronaldo De Lima is the 2nd on the list of top goal scorers in World Cup history with 15 goals to his name, Ronaldo De Lima is regarded as one of the best Brazilian footballers ever and it is no doubt that he makes the list.
The Brazilian has featured in 4 World cups in 1994,1998,2002 & 2006 winning the world Cup twice, During the 1998 World cup he didn’t score any goal but was part of the Brazilian team that won the world cup.
in 1998 he scored 4 goals to mark his first goals at the world cup and was considered by football experts as the world’s greatest player, at first Ronaldo was not included into the team sheet which was submitted to the FIFA officials the Brazilian coach was asked “Wait a minute, where’s Ronaldo? Mr Zagallo, are you sure there’s no mistake?”. The starting line up without Ronaldo which was released shocked the media of the world, but however shortly before kick off, after pleading that he felt fine and requested to play, Ronaldo was reinstated by Zagallo, Brazil lost their first game and Ronaldo was unable to hit the ground but became the Joint top scorer of the tournament and also won the Golden ball.
Another World Cup played by Ronaldo was in 2002 when he scored 8 goals making it a total of 12 goals in 3 world cups Brazil went on to win the World Cup Trophy and Ronaldo won the golden boot and was runner up to the golden ball.
Ronaldo played his last world cup in 2006 hoping he would win the trophy with Brazil unfortunately the trophy headed to Europe with Italy, The Brazilian scored 3 goals in the tournament which wasn’t enough to advance Brazil further.
