5. John Hollins – 622 Appearances
The former blues captain John Hollins had two speels with the club, the first was when he made a debut for the club at the age of 17 when Chelsea played Swindon Town in September 1963 after he had his youth career at the club. It was in that spell when he made a club record of 167 consecutive appearances, won the FA Cup for the club and a year later the Cup Winners’ Cup after they played Real Madrid to win the trophy.
John was sold to Queens Park Rangers after the blues were relegated to the Second Division at the end of the 1974-75 league season where he spent four years to join Arsenal F.C spending also four years with them that later in the 1983-84 league season he made a free transfer to his former club Chelsea who were playing in the Second Division by then. Hollins still helped his Club to get promotion back to the First Division and retired from football at the end of that season. He later become a Chelsea manager.
