Most Embarrassing Losses In Soccer History
5. Denmark Beats Germany 2-0 at the Finals of the European Championship Soccer 1992
The Danes didn’t even qualify for the tournament, but they moved up due to the disqualification of Yugoslavia. Never expected that they would win the tournament against the reigning world champion Germany. The match was played in Sweden and like most of the cases on the list, Germany were favorites while Denmark were the under dogs. The Danes started the match at full throttle and found the back of the net during the first half with a wonderful goal from John Jensen from in inside the 18 yard box into the top right corner of the goal. Denmark sealed the victory with another goal goal late in the second half with only 12 minutes to goal this time Kim Vilfort was the one who killed the game.
