10. Estadio Riazor – 34,600 Capacity
Estadio Riazor is number 10 on our list with the Top 10 Biggest Stadiums in the Spanish La Liga. Since 1944 when Estadio Riazor was opened, Spanish Club Deportivo de La Coruna have been the tenants of this stadium. The stadium was Deportivo’s home ground since 1906 though it had yet to have essential facilities that were all done in October 1944. Since then the stadium accommodates 34,600 spectators.
Estadio Riazor hosted the Copa del Rey final of the 1947 league season which saw Real Madrid play RCD Espanyol . Later in the 1982 FIFA World Cup competitions, the stadium hosted three games i.e the two goalless draws of Peru 0-0 Cameroon, Poland 0-0 Cameroon and a 5-1 win for Poland against Peru.

The stadium is nicknamed ” La Bombonera ” and it hosted two FIFA World Cup games in 1982, a 2-1 Brazil win over Soviet Union and also hosted the Semi-final match between West Germany and France. This Spanish stadium is also located in Sevilla, Spain and it is the home ground for Real Betis. The stadium was opened in 1929 and the first game at this ground involved the Spanish National Football Team. Estadio Benito Villamarin hosted two games of the FIFA World Cup competitions in 1982, a 4-1 Brazil win over Scotland on 18 June 1982 and a 4-0 Brazil win over New Zealand, just five days later.

This is the new home of Spanish Club Athletic Bilbao named after the Old San Mames that was the club home ground way back till 2013 when the club left for this newly built ground. This stadium has a 53,289 spectator capacity that is way bigger than that 40,000 seater capacity of the old San Mames. On 19 September 2014, the stadium was selected as one of the thirteen venues to host matches at the UEFA Euro 2020 and it will host three group stage matches and one Round of 16 match of the tournament.

This stadium is located on the banks of the Manzanares in the Arganzuela district of Spaanish Capital Madrid. Estadio Vicente Calderon Stadium is home ground of Spanish Club Atletico Madrid and it got it’s name after a famous Atletico Club president as it was originally known as the Manzanares Stadium.
It has a 54,907 seater capacity and it is the fourth stadium of Spanish clubs with the largest seater capacity. Vicente Calderon was also among those venues that hosted the 1982 FIFA World Cup competitions in Spain, hosting three second round games of Group D. The Mestalla Stadium is more known for it’s steep terracing and home ground for Spanish Club Valencia Club de Futbol who are the tenants of the stadium since May 1923 when it was opened.
