Who is the richest person i Japan? Japan brags about having about 33 billionaires. This is not surprising especially because it is a technological country. Most technology companies are found in Japan. However, the wealthiest people in this country have nothing to do with manufacturing or selling electronics. Instead, the top ten wealthiest people in Japan are an assorted group of individuals who are involved in marketing clothes, food and other everyday products.

10. Masatoshi Ito
Masatoshi Ito is worth about $2.8 billion. He is the founder of Ito Yokado as well as its chairman. This company takes the second largest position of retailing organizations worldwide. Note that his company has a control of 10,000 stores in Japan. It is a global organization which also controls 5,800 companies in America. The company controls businesses like supermarkets, restaurants and retail shops. Masatoshi is married with three kids. Masatoshi Ito owns a lot of franchise rights to Denny’s restaurant, Robison’s department supplies; all based in Japan.
9. Keiichiro Takahara
Takahara is 83 years old and is the founder of Unicharm Company. He is married with three children. The company manufactures sanitary napkins, diapers and other personal items. Takahara is worth $3.3 billion. Takahisa took over as the company’s chief executive in the year 2001. He is the son of Takahara. After the inaugural up of the Chinese market, Unicharm made inroads into Southeast Asia. Unicharm came up with a pet business together with a company called Hartz in the US. The company has made huge profits in the recent years.
8. Han Chang-U
Han Chang is of Korean origin. He moved to Japan secretly in the year 1945 and he was able to get a special resident status. After that he attended university and graduated in 1952. He graduated with Bachelors in Economics. After graduation, Han took over paachiko operation that belonged to his brother-in-law. He was later able to start his Maruhan Corporation in 1972 which also deals with Pachiko machines. He officially became a Japanese nationality in 2002. He is worth $3.4 billion.

Takemitsu is the chairman of Kayence Company. The man is worth $4.7 billion. His company is a global supplier and also deals with direct sales that make electrical components and sensors. The company specializes in direct sales for many other products like vision sensors, digital microscopes, measuring devices and laser makers. Takemitsu’s company is a distributing company that does not manufacture its own goods. The company also boosts about how well it pays its employers and its generosity. Takemitsu has made huge profits and is best known for making good decisions as far as investment is concerned.
6. Akira Mori
The net worth of Akira Mori is $5 billion. He is the president and chief executive Mori Trust. Mori Trust deals with real estate development. Akira’s father formed the company in 1959 which was known as Mori Building by that time. Akira attended a university in Japan and graduated in 1960 after which he worked at Yasuda Trust and Banking. He later worked at his father’s company as an ordinary employee in 1972. Upon the bereavement of his father in 1993, Akira took over the company together with his brother. Mori Trust manages and operates over 100 buildings including office buildings, residential apartments and hotels.

Busujima is 89 years old and a married man with four children. He is the founder and chairman of Sankyo. Busujima has a net worth of $5.2 billion. Sankyo is among the top three companies in Japan that specializes in manufacturing and making pachinko machines. He is ranked the fifth wealthiest man in Japan. Currently, Busujima’s son runs his company. Recently, the company’s game has remained strong.

Hiroshi ha a net worth of $6.4 billion and he is the co-founder of Rakuten company. Hiroshi is the chief executive of the company which is an E-commerce and Internet Company. Hiroshi founded the company in 1997. The company is the prevalent E-commerce company in this country. He became the company’s chairman in 2001 and he has really impacted on the company by turning it into an English speaking corporation. He went to the university in Harvard.

Masayoshi is the initiator and CEO of Softbank. He is worth $9.1 billion. Masayoshi is also the CEO of Softbank Mobile and currently the chairman of the Spirit Corporation. According to Forbes, Masayoshi is the world’s 45th most powerful person. He is actually of Korean origin. Masayoshi moved to California at the age of 16 and attended university in the same place. However, in 2012, he was moved down the list to number two. He studied economics in Keio University and a holder of MBA too. He took over his grandfather’s company in 2001. His company has stood up in the brewing industry both in alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks. His company won a $16 billion deal. The man has a gross worth of $10.7 billion.

Tadashi is the founder of Fast Retailing as well as its president. This company specializes in retailing and it also owns many well-known clothing brands. Yanai founded the company in 1963 but under a different name but he later changed its name in 1991. According to Bloomberg, Yanai is the world’s 35th richest person. He embraces a degree in economics and politics. He started off in the world of business by selling men’s clothing and kitchenware before he joined a tailor shop owned by his father. He alter opened his own company. Yanai is worth $15.5 billion and he has worn several awards in Japan for his business.
